The Supreme Court on Monday established a National Task Force (NTF) aimed at addressing mental health concerns among students in higher education institutions following a rise in student suicides.
Tasked with identifying underlying causes and improving prevention strategies, the NTF is authorized to inspect educational facilities to ensure a comprehensive approach is adopted.
This decision follows tragic cases involving IIT Delhi students, emphasizing the necessity for a stronger framework to protect student well-being amid existing challenges like discrimination and academic pressure.
