AAP Fights New Delhi School Fee Law: Allegations of Unchecked Private School Powers

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a campaign on Tuesday to oppose the recently passed Delhi school fee law. The law, according to AAP, empowers private schools to increase fees arbitrarily while excluding parents from the decision-making process.
The BJP has not yet responded to these claims. The law, supported by Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena, was notified by the government after passing the Delhi School Education (Fee Determination and Transparency Regulation) Act, 2025, on Monday.
AAP's Delhi unit president, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and MLA Jarnail Singh are spearheading initiatives across the city. The party's student wing, ASAP, will hold awareness drives to educate parents about what they claim are inequities in the new law, which they say benefits private school owners at parents' expense.
