Jammu and Kashmir to Launch National Law University by April

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced that the National Law University is set to open in Jammu and Kashmir by next April. Jammu and Kashmir is set to witness the launch of its National Law University next April, as confirmed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The institution will initially operate from rented premises in Budgam district, aiming to kickstart its academic activities promptly.

Addressing the state's legislative assembly, Abdullah emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure, ensuring a local venue for law students who currently have to study outside the union territory. The establishment of the university comes despite prior objections from the Air Force regarding the proposed site.

The announcement follows a resolution put forward by Congress MLA Nizam-Ud-Din Bhat, urging swift action. Abdullah assured that discussions are ongoing with relevant authorities to finalize the project details.
