A tragic incident unfolded in Odisha's Koraput district as a portion of a wall collapsed at a state-run residential school, resulting in the death of an eight-year-old boy while injuring two others.

Police reported the incident took place on Wednesday at the Gandhi Nagar Ashram School, which serves SC and ST students, when a four-foot-high wall unexpectedly gave way. Identified as Premananda Bhatra, the deceased was among the school's class 3 students.

Following the collapse, one injured student was treated and discharged, while another remains under care at the Jeypore district hospital.
