A 21-year-old male student of IIT Bombay reportedly committed suicide early Wednesday morning, jumping from the terrace of his hostel in Mumbai's Powai area, according to police sources.
Naman Agarwal, a second-year engineering student, took the fatal plunge from hostel number 4 at around 1 a.m. The reasons for his drastic decision are yet to be uncovered, as relayed by a Powai police official.
Agarwal hailed from Pilani, Rajasthan. In response to the incident, the police have filed an Accidental Death Report and initiated an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.
