Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a post-budget webinar on Monday, called for accelerating the integration of education with the real-world economy. He emphasized the importance of focusing on subjects such as artificial intelligence, automation, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to align educational initiatives with economic needs.
Addressing stakeholders from various government ministries and private sector experts, Modi articulated that the core objective of his government is to fulfill the aspirations of the people. He identified key sectors like education, skill development, health, tourism, sports, and culture as pivotal in achieving these goals.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for a robust research ecosystem to empower young researchers, particularly encouraging female participation in STEM fields. He also highlighted the strengthened health sector, enhanced by initiatives like Ayushman Bharat, and the growing significance of the 'care economy' for an aging population. Sports initiatives, notably Khelo India, have revitalized national sports infrastructure, supporting youth development.
