Peaky Blinders Season 6 wraps up filming: Fans can expect a twist in storyline

Peaky Blinders Season 6 is coming back soon. The avid viewers and fans of Peaky Blinders are left with more  questions than answers after the previous season's finale came out. The filming for the series has been officially wrapped up. The Peaky Blinders team is gearing up to release the sixth and final season sometime in 2022.

Peaky Blinders Season 6 will obviously bring some twist to the plot as it is the final season of the series. It will see the return of Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby aka Tommy. Season 6 will focus on Tommy's enmity with multiple enemies that he has grown over the years. Fans were surprised when they saw that his plot to kill Oswald Mosley backfired horrifically and led to the demise of some of his closest allies. Now the series enthusiasts want to know the name of the character who betrayed him.

Someone close to the gangster betrayed the Shelby brother. The family members such as Ada Thorne are under suspicion. Even Alfie Solomons, the Jewish gang leader is on the list of suspected characters.

Besides, the returning of Gina Gray’s (played by Anya Taylor-Joy) is a big question to fans. In the fifth season, Gina Gray is introduced as the pregnant American wife of Michael Gray. Gina is an American who meets Michael Ray (Finn Cole) in New York and later becomes his wife.

Gina soon emerged as a power-hungry schemer who encouraged her husband to wrest control of the Shelby Company from Tommy which inevitably put Michael at odds with his family, Screenrant noted. Peaky Blinders Season 5 hinted at her returning as her story is not over.

The production for Peaky Blinders Season 6 was wrapped up on May 28. The show's creator, Steven Knight is tight-lipped on the release status and plot of Peaky Blinders Season 6. But recently Peaky Blinders star Conrad Khan has hinted that Season 6 would be arriving before too long.

"That comes out, from what I last heard – I mean, these things change so quickly – I think that will come out next February, the beginning of next year," Conrad Khan explained to Radio Times.

He added, "There was so much footage, so many episodes, that it does take a while to edit – six months or something."

So assuming that the post-production work would take at least six months to complete, Peaky Blinders Season 6 might get an air date in early 2022. This means we might have to wait until the end of this year to get the exact release date.
