After Chris Pratt starred as Owen Grady in three Jurassic World films, the franchise will next be going in a new direction with Scarlett Johansson on board. Pratt has weighed in on Johansson's addition to the franchise and the possibility of reuniting with his MCU co-star in the blockbuster series.

In a new interview with Kevin Polowy of CBR to speak about The Garfield Movie, Pratt commented on the news about Johansson taking the lead in the next Jurassic Park/World reboot alongside Jonathan Bailey. He was asked if Johansson had been in touch following her casting, and Pratt shared that she hadn't, but that he encourages her to reach out if she'd like. When asked about his own potential return as Owen in the film, the actor teased that it's possible, but he'll be in full support of the film regardless.

"You know what, she didn't, she hasn't called, but, you know, ScarJo, I'm only one call away. I think Colin [Jost] has my number," Pratt said, referring to Johansson's husband. He added, "Feel free to reach out. Yeah, that's exciting news. That's real cool."

Pratt continued, "Hey, never say never. Maybe. Maybe I return. Maybe I don't. You'll just have to tune in to find out. I know I'll be first in line, whether I'm in it or not."

The next Jurassic film is reportedly titled Jurassic City, though that hasn't been officially confirmed. It's expected to be a soft reboot of the franchise by introducing an all-new cast of characters, similar to how Jurassic World spun off from the Jurassic Park trilogy. That would seemingly leave the door open for special appearances from Jurassic Park and Jurassic World stars, but it's not yet clear if there will be any returns. What's known is that the movie will be released on July 2, 2025, and that Gareth Edwards will direct.

Chris Pratt's The Garfield Movie Is Heading to U.S. Theaters

Meanwhile, Pratt is coming back to the big screen in the U.S. with the imminent release of The Garfield Movie in theaters. Directed by Mark Dindal, the film features Pratt as the voice of Garfield, marking another major voiceover role for the actor following the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The film also features the voices of Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult, Hannah Waddingham, Cecily Strong, and Ving Rhames.

The film's synopsis reads, "Garfield (Pratt), the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, is about to have a wild outdoor adventure! After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – scruffy street cat Vic (Jackson) – Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist."

The Garfield Movie will be released in U.S. theaters on May 24, 2024.
