Odisha Celebrates Raja: The Agrarian Festival of Joy
President Droupadi Murmu and Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi extended greetings to the people of Odisha on Raja, an agrarian festival. Celebrated for three days in coastal Odisha, the festival marks the respect for soil and clouds and the onset of monsoon. Special arrangements include 'Pithas' by the OTDC.

President Droupadi Murmu and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Odisha on the occasion of Raja, a cherished agrarian festival predominantly celebrated in the state's coastal regions. The President emphasized the festival's significance in honoring soil and clouds, wishing happiness, peace, and prosperity to all.
Chief Minister Majhi echoed these sentiments, expressing hope that this unique celebration of Odisha's cultural heritage would bring joy and happiness to everyone's lives. Raja festival, observed over three days starting Friday, begins with 'Pahili Raja,' the final day of the month Jestha, leading into the solar month of 'Mithuna' and monsoon arrival.
The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) has organized special arrangements, including traditional sweetmeats known as 'Pithas,' to enrich the festive experience. The festival holds deep agricultural significance, symbolizing mother earth's preparation for future farming activities with the onset of rains.
