The Shravan Ashtami fair is set to take place from August 5 to 14 at the renowned Mata Shri Naina Devi temple, announced Deputy Commissioner Bilaspur, Abid Hussain Sadiq, on Thursday. During this period, the temple will be accessible to devotees round the clock, except for specific hours reserved for cleaning and other activities.
In order to ensure safety and prevent any untoward incidents, high-tech drones will be deployed for monitoring, Sadiq revealed during a meeting. Additionally, an array of officers has been designated to oversee different aspects of the fair, including the additional deputy commissioner, sub-divisional magistrate, and law enforcement officials.
Applications for langar services can be submitted at shrinainadevi.com, and the fairground will be segmented into 18 sectors for better law and order management. A specialized police commando squad will be on standby for emergencies, while a control room will monitor all sectors. For the first time, groups of 150 to 200 devotees will be allowed for 'darshan' to manage the crowd efficiently. Essential services such as sanitation and drinking water will be prioritized, and the Public Works Department has been instructed to finalize road repairs before the event.
