Radhika Merchant Dazzles in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s Panetar for Wedding
Radhika Merchant wore a stunning Gujarati 'Panetar' bridal lehenga designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for her wedding to Anant Ambani. In an interview, the designers shared their creative process and excitement for India Couture Week 2024, which opened in New Delhi today.
Radhika Merchant's bridal lehenga for her nuptials with Anant Ambani was a breathtaking modern adaptation of the traditional Gujarati 'Panetar,' created by renowned designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The designer duo offered insights into the making of the lehenga in an exclusive interview with ANI.
"We focused on what we excel at, blending personal appeal and tradition. Radhika wished for off-white and red shades conforming to Gujarati customs, so we retained that style but amplified the drama. She's a beautiful bride," shared the designers. They revealed that the design was in progress for about six months and completed in just two months.
The designers also expressed their enthusiasm for launching India Couture Week (ICW) with their labels Asal and Mard. "This time, we have original music by Akshay and IP, an album titled 'Cake,' a jewelry partner, and a crew of 80. It's going to be spectacular. The show's theme is not fearing solitude, highlighting that marriage should not be an escape from being alone," they said.
ICW 2024, spanning eight days from today at Taj Mahal hotel in New Delhi, features top designers including Amit Aggarwal, Dolly J, Gaurav Gupta, and Tarun Tahiliani among others, showcasing their collections to enthral audiences.
