Neeraj Pandey Ventures into Romance with 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha'

Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, known for his thrillers, makes his long-awaited directorial debut into romance with 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha'. The film stars Ajay Devgn and Tabu and tells a story about love, separation, and reunion. Music by MM Kreem is integral to advancing the narrative.

Neeraj Pandey, a filmmaker celebrated for his gripping thrillers such as 'A Wednesday', 'Special 26', and 'Baby', has ventured into a new genre - romance. His latest project, 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha', fulfills his long-standing desire to direct a love story. Starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, the movie tells the story of Krishna and Vasudha, a couple who separate under tragic circumstances only to reunite after 20 years.

Pandey spoke to PTI about his journey, stating, 'The first script that I ever wanted to make was a love story but it never got made. Life takes a certain direction.' Despite a career concentrated on suspense, he said the narrative drive behind this romantic film made it compelling to create. 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha' also features performances by Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar as the younger versions of Krishna and Vasudha.

An essential component of any romantic film, Pandey emphasized the role of music in this project, which began two years ago during the scripting phase. Collaborating once again with Oscar-winning composer MM Kreem, Pandey praised Kreem's ability to integrate songs that organically advance the story, avoiding the trend of inserting pre-composed hits. The film, produced by Friday Filmworks and slated to release on August 2, promises to be a touching narrative driven by genuine performances and memorable music.
