During an International Tiger Day celebration, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav proclaimed that the tiger, not the lion, is the rightful king of the jungle. He cited the strength, courage, and agility of the tiger as reasons for his assertion.

Yadav criticized lions for being lazy and described them as animals that rely on others to hunt and eat. According to him, tigers embody 'parakram' (courage) and 'purusharth' (endeavor) by hunting and eating their own prey.

He highlighted that Madhya Pradesh, known as a 'tiger state,' hosts the highest number of tigers in India. The state also houses cheetahs, with significant numbers located in Kuno National Park. Yadav pointed out that the park attracts over 25 lakh tourists annually.
