Members of the Bengali film industry on Tuesday expressed deep concern over the volatile situation in Bangladesh, mourning the loss of lives and advocating for peace.

Tollywood actor Jeet, who has featured in several Bangladeshi productions, described the unfolding scenes as ''shattering.'' He offered his prayers for Bangladesh and expressed hope that they can overcome this challenging period. ''My prayers are with the people of Bangladesh,'' Jeet said, emphasizing the need to save and protect lives.

Another Bengali superstar Dev, whose friend and Bangladeshi producer Salim Khan and his actor son Shanto were beaten to death in Chandpur on Monday, shared his distress. ''The news of deaths and violence is upsetting,'' Dev told reporters in Delhi, expressing hope for a swift resolution.

Actor Kaushani Mukhopadhyay, who starred opposite Shanto in the Bangladeshi film Piya Re, was deeply affected by his death. ''I can't believe he is no more. Shanto had ambitions to make a significant impact in the industry,'' she recalled.

Bangladeshi actress Pori Moni, in a Facebook post, urged for peace, not violence. ''We want peace, not looting or attacks on police stations,'' she wrote, calling for restraint and responsibility to prevent further bloodshed.
