Budha Amarnath Pilgrimage Commences with 651 Devotees

The Budha Amarnath pilgrimage in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district began with 651 pilgrims. A convoy of 14 vehicles was flagged off by authorities from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp. Security arrangements are in place for the event, which sees devotees visit one of the region's oldest shrines.

The Budha Amarnath pilgrimage in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district commenced on Wednesday, marking the start of a significant spiritual journey for 651 devotees.

A convoy consisting of 14 vehicles carrying the pilgrims was formally flagged off by Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar and Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone, Anand Jain. Several leaders from the Bajrang Dal and VHP were also present at the Bhagwati Nagar base camp.

Jain assured that comprehensive security measures have been enacted to ensure a peaceful and incident-free yatra. The Budha Amarnath Temple, located in Rajpura village, Poonch, is an ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva and continues to draw a large number of spiritual seekers.
