Legacy of a Leader: Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's Body Donated for Medical Research
Former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's body was dedicated to the anatomy department of N R S Hospital for medical research. Mourners and political leaders, including members of CPI(M) and TMC, attended the ceremony. The body will be preserved for future medical research according to his and his family's wishes.

The body of former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee was donated to the anatomy department of N R S Hospital on Friday evening for medical research, amidst chants of 'Amar Rahe' and 'Lal Salam Comrade.'
Hundreds of mourners followed the flower-decked hearse into the hospital compound. Around 5.30 pm, party activists, supporters, and leaders carried Bhattacharjee's body inside the anatomy department.
Prominent CPI(M) leaders Sujan Chakraborty, Surya Kanta Mishra, Rabin Dev, and Bhattacharjee's daughter Suchetana Bhattacharjee were present, along with TMC leader Santanu Sen and KMC Deputy Mayor Atin Ghosh, to pay their respects. Senior Professor Abhijit Bhakta received the body, which will be preserved for medical research according to the family's wishes.
