DRDO Develops World's Lightest Bullet Proof Jacket

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has created the world's lightest bullet proof jacket using a novel material and new processes. The technology is being transferred to Indian industries for mass production. Meanwhile, around 10,354 acres of defence land is under encroachment, a concern addressed by Defence Minister Sanjay Seth.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has unveiled what is being hailed as the world's lightest bullet proof jacket (BPJ). Developed using a novel material and new manufacturing processes, this advanced BPJ features the lightest Front Hard Armour Panel (FHAP).

Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, confirmed in a written statement to the Lok Sabha that the DRDO has indeed developed this innovative BPJ, and steps to transfer this technology to Indian industries for bulk production have commenced.

Simultaneously, the Defence Ministry faces another challenge: encroachment issues on defence land. Seth disclosed that approximately 10,354 acres of land across the country are affected. The ministry has initiated measures including digitizing land records and regular inspections to address these encroachments.
