Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hailed President Droupadi Murmu for being awarded the Grand-Collar of the Order of Timor-Leste, underscoring the formidable ties and mutual respect between India and Timor-Leste.
President Murmu landed in Dili, Timor-Leste, on Saturday for the first-ever presidential visit from India to the country.
President Jose Ramos-Horta bestowed upon her the Grand-Collar of the Order of Timor-Leste, the highest honor in Timor-Leste. Prime Minister Modi remarked, "It is a proud moment for us to see Rashtrapati Ji being honored with the Grand-Collar of the Order of Timor-Leste, the nation's highest civilian award. This reflects the strong ties and mutual respect between our countries and acknowledges her monumental contribution to public life."
