In a tragic incident, two French Rafale fighter jets collided and subsequently crashed on Wednesday in northeastern France, military authorities confirmed. The collision took place while the jets were returning from a refueling mission in Germany.
The French Army of Air and Space reported that one of the pilots was found unharmed. However, the search continues for the remaining two individuals, identified as an instructor and a trainee, according to local broadcaster BFM TV.
French Minister of the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, expressed gratitude to the armed forces and the gendarmes involved in the search operations. The regional prefecture has urged members of the public to provide any relevant information.
