During the celebratory event, Banerjee awarded medals to four IPS officers for their exceptional service to the nation. She also inspected the ceremonial march past of different army and police regiments.
The day was marked by colourful tableaux that showcased the achievements of various state government departments and key projects. Additionally, song and dance performances by children from various schools were also highlights of the celebration. In a social media post, Banerjee extended her wishes, saying, ‘Happy Independence Day to all my brothers and sisters!’ She paid homage to freedom fighters, acknowledging their sacrifices and expressing her deepest respect for their selfless love for the motherland.
