Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged Indian professionals to take the lead in the global gaming market and establish India as a dominant force in the industry. Addressing the nation during the 78th Independence Day celebrations, Modi highlighted the potential of using the country's rich cultural heritage to excel in both gaming and game production.

Modi noted that the current gaming market is largely shaped by foreign creators and producers, but expressed confidence in India's capability to attract global attention. He underscored the importance of Indian talent, particularly the youth, in driving the sector's growth, not just as players but as creators of games that can reach a worldwide audience.

Further emphasizing the importance of a free and unregulated market, Modi assured that the gaming industry should remain unbounded to ensure its growth. During an interaction with top Indian gamers in April, Modi had engaged with the gaming community to understand the industry's future and challenges, even trying his hand at some games himself.
