Southern Naval Command Marks 78th Independence Day with Tribute and Commitment

The Southern Naval Command commemorated India's 78th Independence Day on Thursday, with the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOCINC) Vice Admiral V Srinivas highlighting the navy's pivotal role in relief efforts in Wayanad following landslides.

Vice Admiral Srinivas underscored the navy's unwavering commitment to providing humanitarian assistance, citing various medical evacuations in Lakshadweep. He called on everyone to rededicate themselves to the nation's security, progress, and prosperity, aiming for a developed India by 2047.

In a solemn ceremony, the FOCINC South paid tribute to fallen heroes by placing a wreath at the SNC memorial and reviewed the Ceremonial Parade. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted India's post-independence journey and the navy's crucial role in global maritime security, particularly in the Western Indian Ocean.
