A newly formed group, 'Assam Women Journalists' Forum,' aims to tackle workplace safety, newsroom equality, and skill development for women journalists in Assam.

The forum, established on Saturday with over 50 participants, remembers a junior doctor who faced a tragic death in Kolkata, underscoring the need for safety.

Led by an 11-member committee including Durba Ghosh and Nasreen Habib, the group plans workshops, mentorship programs, and advocacy for safe, equal work environments.
