TÜV Rheinland has become one of the first testing companies authorized to evaluate manufacturers and suppliers in the photovoltaic (PV) industry according to the Solar Stewardship Initiative's (SSI) ESG standards. The SSI aims to ensure sustainability throughout the photovoltaic supply chain.
Developed specifically for the PV sector, the ESG Standard considers international standards in governance, business ethics, the environment, and human and labor rights. SSI member companies are required to have two of their sites assessed by an authorized body like TÜV Rheinland within a year.
Frank Dorssers, responsible for global Customized Services at TÜV Rheinland, stated, "We are honored to be recognized as an Assessment Body by the Solar Stewardship Initiative. This partnership aligns with our mission to support sustainable development and innovation in the solar industry." TÜV Rheinland, with over 150 years of expertise, ensures trust in global value chains and supports sustainable development worldwide.
