Bhupinder Singh Assandh Re-elected as HSGMC President

Bhupinder Singh Assandh was re-elected unopposed as the president of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC). In addition, eleven members were unanimously elected as executive members. The new ad hoc committee was nominated by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and Assandh thanked the members for their support.

Bhupinder Singh Assandh has been re-elected unopposed as the president of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC).

In a meeting held on Wednesday, eleven members were also unanimously elected as executive members to oversee the gurdwara affairs in Haryana, officials said.

Previously, 41 members of the general house took the oath of office. The first 18-month period of the ad hoc committee expired on May 31, and a new committee was nominated by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on August 14.

Addressing the media, Assandh expressed his gratitude to the members for electing him and promised to manage gurdwara affairs inclusively, considering all sections of the Sikh community.

Assandh highlighted that when a separate gurdwara committee was established over a decade ago, the gurdwaras lacked financial resources. Today, the HSGMC has fixed deposits exceeding Rs 40 crores in the bank, he said.
