The Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) has declared that it will not shield its members who face allegations cited in the Justice Hema Committee report. The federation stated that any member arrested would be suspended immediately.
FEFKA General Secretary B Unnikrishnan revealed that the organization, which represents 21 trade unions within the Malayalam film industry, would provide any relevant information to the police if such complaints surface. Unnikrishnan acknowledged that some association members were already facing serious allegations.
Unnikrishnan also called for transparency, stating that the names of the accused mentioned in the report should be disclosed and subjected to legal scrutiny. He further criticized Justice Hema for not taking action when cognizable crimes were reported. The publication of the report has led to a slew of complaints from female actors about harassment by male colleagues, prompting the government to form a seven-member special investigation team to probe these allegations.
