Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday flagged off the Subhadra Yojana Awareness Rath, a chariot set to traverse the state to raise awareness about the scheme.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Pravatai Parida, who also serves as the Women and Child Development Minister, Majhi emphasized that Subhadra Yojana seeks to empower women across Odisha. He noted that the awareness chariot would educate citizens on the scheme and guide them on the application process. More than 1 crore women are anticipated to benefit from this initiative, which Majhi described as a step toward fulfilling the dream of every woman and enhancing Odia pride.

Parida assured that there would be no deadline for application submission, ensuring that all eligible women could benefit from the scheme. Addressing natural confusions associated with new programs, she stated that the awareness chariot would help clarify public doubts. Under the scheme, women beneficiaries will receive Rs 10,000 annually for five years, with the first instalment set for September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday. The state government aims to enroll at least 1 crore women, in line with a BJP election manifesto promise.
