Leopard Attack Sparks Protests in Udaipur

A 40-year-old woman was mauled to death by a leopard in Rajasthan’s Udaipur district, police reported on Sunday.

The incident occurred when three women went to collect wood near a hilly area in Jhadol. While two managed to escape, the leopard dragged Meera into the forest and killed her.

Upon receiving information, locals gathered and discovered Meera's body, leading to a protest on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad highway. The villagers were outraged over repeated leopard attacks and accused authorities of failing to prevent such incidents.

Efforts to calm the protesters are ongoing, according to police.
