Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Milind Parande voiced strong objections on Saturday regarding the alleged use of animal fat in the laddus of the Tirupati temple, considering it a severe affront to the Hindu faith.

Parande blamed government management of temple trusts and the inclusion of individuals from other religions in temple administration for leading to such an 'unacceptable' incident. He reported to the press that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's allegation about the use of animal fat has ignited a significant political controversy, with the YSRCP accusing Naidu of making these claims for electoral advantage, although the TDP has presented a lab report supporting the claim.

The VHP leader reiterated that only Hindu temples fall under government oversight, while other religious places like churches and mosques do not. He demanded that Hindu society should control Hindu temples to facilitate broader social and religious engagement. Parande also advocated for the cessation of 'appeasement' politics and proposed a central law against conversions.

Additionally, Parande expressed support for the recent central government Bill to amend the Waqf Board law, designed to omit sections regarding powers to determine Waqf properties, and called for stringent measures against violence during Hindu religious processions. He announced a national-level meeting of the Bajrang Dal in Jaipur to address issues like forced conversions and planned a series of 'Run for Health' marathons to raise anti-drug abuse awareness.
