At 80, Ganesh had battled age-related issues. According to his son, Maha Delhi Ganesh, the actor did not respond to medication and was pronounced dead by a doctor. 'Delhi' Ganesh's illustrious career began in the 1960s in drama before transitioning into film under the legendary director K Balachander.

A stalwart of Tamil cinema, Ganesh was celebrated for roles alongside stars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Notably, he added depth to Haasan's character in 'Nayakan' and performed iconic roles in other notable films.
