Luther Season 6 to show John Luther set free, New film to be linked to Season 5

Waiting for ‘Luther’ Season 6 continues! ‘Luther’ Season 5 premiered on January 1 and dropped its finale on January 4. The finale ended with the detainment of the dangerous detective and Alice Morgan’s (Ruth Wilson) apparent death as she fell from a lethal height and plummeted to the floor.

We don’t know what whether ‘Luther’ Season 6 will show her alive at the hospital or totally dead, but she once faked her own drowning in Season 4. Hence, the viewers are not convinced with the fact she died falling from a lethal height.

As far as the making of ‘Luther’ Season 6 is concerned, there are plenty of possibilities that the BBC series will make a comeback. Initially, this is cleared that Season 5 ended with two major cliffhangers – one was the arrest of John Luther (Idris Elba) and secondly Alice’s sudden fall without showing if she survived the accident.

On the other hand, the spoilers for upcoming season suggested by Digital Spy claim that the plot would mainly revolve around John and he might be set free. This time he has been wrongly accused and the truth is likely to come out in the next season.

According to Idris Elba, they were of the opinion of making a film after the completion of Season 5 and also said that it (Season 5) would not bring ‘Luther’ at the end. However, what he said that the ‘proposed’ movie would somehow be linked to Season 5.

The official release date for ‘Luther’ Season 6 is not revealed, but various sources say that the making of the movie will make it delay till 2021.
