Why Sherlock Season 5 to take place despite its uncertainty

The future of Sherlock Season 5 is still uncertain despite adequate confirmation from Hartswood Films. Some media outlets are currently pitching its ‘purported’ cancellation but the true fact is that the making of highly-anticipated season is currently halted due to multiple reasons. One of the main reasons is Benedict Cumberbatch is presently busy in the release work of Toby Hayne’s upcoming television drama film Brexit that is scheduled to be released on January 19 this year on HBO.

Another reason why Sherlock Season 5 will positively be aired in future is that Benedict Cumberbatch, who played the protagonist role of Sherlock Homes in all the previous seasons, earlier expressed his eagerness to play the similar role again. In a conversation with Radio Times, the 42-year old Thor: Ragnarok actor opined that “nobody has ever closed the door on Sherlock”. “we just say the same thing all the time and it gets quoted different ways,” he added.

Similarly, while series’ co-creator Steven Moffat was asked on the arrival of Sherlock Season 5 by BBC Radio 2 journalist along with Chris Evans, he (Moffat) said that “he was optimistic of a fifth series at some point in the future despite everybody's busy schedules.” He even openly admitted that since the work on Dracula was already commenced, it was quite tough for the team to work on both the projects concurrently.

Some claim that the previous season’s finale title (The Final Problem) was adequate for hinting that Season 5 will not take place. Had it been so, then BBC or Hartswood Films would have given some more positive hints to notify the series’ end. On the other hand, in that situation, the series creator and main actor Benedict Cumberbatch would never have indirectly talked on its probability. However, at the end we must say that every fan of the detective series must wait, maybe some more time before they finally confirm series’ return.
