The Shahi Jama Masjid management in Sambhal has made a formal request to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for permission to carry out cleaning, painting, and decoration ahead of Ramzan.

According to Committee President Zafar Ali, the mosque has traditionally undergone these activities without ASI objections, but official approval is sought to uphold peace and harmony.

Ali noted a past incident in 2018 concerning a grill installation, which has bolstered their decision to seek ASI's nod for preserving custom and ensuring harmonious celebrations.
