The tragic search for missing Atlanta teacher and coach Gary Jones concluded this weekend with the discovery of his body in Georgia's Lake Oconee. His fiancée, Joycelyn Wilson, was found deceased the day after their outing last month.
The recovery effort was led by Wisconsin search-and-recovery expert Keith Cormican, hired by Jones' family for his expertise in underwater sonar technology. This grim find ends an extensive search that involved cadaver dogs, helicopters, and both government and private resources.
Authorities revealed that Jones and Wilson were captured on video launching their boat from a marina. Their disappearance stirred a significant response, marked by the discovery of their empty fishing boat and the retrieval of Jones' body near a dam that separates Lake Oconee from Lake Sinclair.
