Holi Extravaganza: Banke Bihari Temple's Grand Celebrations

The Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan starts its vibrant Holi celebrations with Tesu and saffron-infused water. The event includes devotional songs, offerings, and a 'chaupai' procession. The Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan kicked off its spectacular Holi festivities on Monday, marking the Rangbhari Ekadashi of the Falgun Shukla Paksha. The celebrations began with the sprinkling of saffron-infused colored water, following a rich tradition observed across various temples in the Braj region.

In an atmospheric Jagmohan hall, Thakur Banke Bihari Maharaj, dressed in solemn white and seated on a silver throne, inaugurated the festival by adorning devotees with gold and silver water guns. This marked the official commencement of Holi festivities at all regional temples, according to temple priest Prahlad Vallabh Goswami.

Apart from Vrindavan’s iconic temple, other notable temples like Thakur Radha Vallabh and Thakur Radha Gopinath joined the grand tradition of Holi, featuring Tesu and saffron colors. Local authorities enforced strict traffic regulations for the safety of the large number of devotees expected to partake in the festival.
