The Travancore Devaswom Board has announced a significant change at the Sabarimala temple, responding to long-standing requests from devotees. Starting March 15, pilgrims will directly access the holy steps for darshan, allowing more time at the revered site.
This change will be trialed during the monthly and Vishu pooja, with the potential for permanent implementation in the next festival season. The decision was made following numerous requests and discussions with stakeholders, ensuring a more fulfilling spiritual experience for visitors.
Additionally, a global meet for Ayyappa devotees and the sale of gold pendants engraved with Lord Ayyappa's image are planned to support temple development, along with increased temple offering rates to meet rising costs.
