In a bid to boost battlefield tourism, a motorcycle expedition to Doka La commenced on Wednesday morning from Gangtok. The event, highlighted by Sikkim's Tourism Minister Tshering Thendup Bhutia, features 161 riders and marks the golden jubilee of Sikkim's statehood.
Organized by the state's Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, along with the Home Department and the 17th Mountain Division, the expedition underscores Sikkim's strategic and geographical uniqueness. Official sources confirmed the involvement of nine major riding clubs.
