Resilient Pilgrims Defy Terror Fears at Amarnath Yatra

Despite recent terror attacks, hundreds of pilgrims from across India have gathered at registration centers to embark on the Amarnath Yatra. Overcoming fears from an April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack, dedicated pilgrims from various Indian states assembled at registration centers for this year's Amarnath Yatra, beginning July 3. Devakar Kadam from Mumbai, gearing up for his 11th pilgrimage, expressed the unyielding spirit of those seeking 'Baba Barfani's darshan' amidst security challenges.

Saraswati Dham registration center in Jammu witnessed a significant turnout; this surge represents a defiant response to the terror threat that resulted in 26 tragic deaths in Pahalgam. Mumta Deshmukh highlighted the pilgrimage not only fulfills a spiritual purpose but also stands as a tribute to attack victims and a declaration of resilience against terrorism.

The traditional 38-day pilgrimage will commence via Nunwan-Pahalgam and Baltal routes, with elaborate security on both tracks. As substantial crowds gathered for token collection on day one, some expressed disappointment due to limited availability. Authorities ensure enhanced registration provisions in coming days to accommodate eager pilgrims.
