The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested Baaz Sran, a Punjabi singer, for his involvement in opium trafficking. Sran, apprehended by the NCB's Chandigarh Zonal Unit, had been a fugitive from justice, charged with seizing 36.150 kg of opium.
Sran, who had been declared a proclaimed offender in 2016, managed to evade arrest by frequently changing his identity and location. In a bid to capture him, the NCB had published his details and announced a reward in May 2025.
Despite his fugitive status, Sran became popular on social media, amassing over 360,000 followers on Instagram. His arrest marks a significant success in the NCB's ongoing battle against drug trafficking networks.
