Actor Rukmini Vasanth is set to make a significant appearance alongside Rishab Shetty in the highly awaited 'Kantara: Chapter 1', according to the film's production team. Known for her debut in the Kannada movie 'Birbal Trilogy Case 1: Finding Vajramuni', Vasanth has since featured in various projects, including 'Baanadariyalli', 'Bagheera', and 'Ace' with Vijay Sethupathi.

This pan-India production from Hombale Films, slated for a global theatrical release on October 2, serves as the prequel to the award-winning 2022 film 'Kantara'. Shetty, who not only stars in but also writes and directs the film, draws audiences back to the rural heartlands of Karnataka.

In a social media announcement, Hombale Films introduced Vasanth as Kanakavathi, showcasing her role via a captivating poster. 'Kantara', celebrated for its compelling storytelling, grossed over Rs 400 crore and was lauded at the National Film Awards, securing Shetty a Best Actor award.
