In a bid to promote inclusivity and harmony, Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus called for a discrimination-free society during his visit to the Dhakeswari National Temple on Tuesday.
Yunus, addressing the Hindu community ahead of the Durga Puja celebrations, stressed that a nation is one family, despite differing opinions or faiths. He underscored the constitutional guarantee of equal rights for all citizens.
However, Yunus's visit comes amid increasing reports of violence against religious minorities in Bangladesh, with incidents of vandalism and exclusion causing concern. India has also voiced apprehensions about the safety of minorities, particularly Hindus, in the country.
