Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced he is in contact with Indian High Commissioner to Singapore, Shilpak Ambule, regarding the return of singer Zubeen Garg's remains to Assam.
Zubeen Garg, a celebrated singer from Assam famous for the iconic 'Ya Ali' song, tragically died on Friday while scuba diving in Singapore. He was 52 years old.
The Indian high commission is collaborating with Singaporean authorities to determine if an autopsy is necessary, Sarma revealed to reporters. If so, Garg's body could return to Assam by Saturday evening. A coordinated effort is underway to expedite the process.
