Bollywood Singer Sachin Sanghvi Arrested for Alleged Assault

Bollywood singer and composer Sachin Sanghvi has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman by promising her a role in a music album and marriage. The woman, in her 20s, alleges the incidents began after connecting with Sanghvi on Instagram. Sanghvi faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Bollywood's well-known singer and composer Sachin Sanghvi has been apprehended by police following allegations of sexual assault made by a young woman. Authorities stated the incidents allegedly occurred under the pretense of offering her a role in a music album and the promise of marriage.

Sanghvi, renowned for hit tracks in films like 'Stree 2' and 'Bhediya', was detained on Thursday. The arrest was made under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, according to an official statement released on Friday.

The complainant, a woman in her 20s, reported that her interactions with Sanghvi began in February 2024 via Instagram. The singer allegedly contacted her, leading to an exchange of phone numbers. The woman claimed that Sanghvi invited her to his studio, where he proposed marriage and subsequently sexually assaulted her multiple times. After an investigation, authorities took Sanghvi into custody, the official added.
