Actor and politician Vijay made a significant gesture of solidarity by meeting with the families of the Karur stampede victims in Mahabalipuram on Monday. The move comes one month after the tragic incident at a meeting held by Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party, which resulted in 41 fatalities and over 60 injuries.
During the emotionally charged gathering, Vijay met with 37 families who had been brought from Karur to a resort in Mahabalipuram, where about 50 rooms were booked for the occasion. The leader provided personal condolences and assured the families of monetary and educational support, according to a source from TVK.
Vijay's initiative to meet the victims' families personally was arranged by TVK to offer condolences and support. The families, transported in five buses, were expected to travel back to Karur, which is approximately 400 kilometers away, later in the day.
