Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lead a grand celebration at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on October 31. The event commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, one of India's most revered leaders, known for his instrumental role in unifying the nation.
Officials announced that the National Unity Day celebrations will comprise multiple special events. Modelled after Delhi's Republic Day Parade, a grand parade is organized in Ekta Nagar. Sixteen contingents from various security forces and states will participate, including decorated BSF soldiers and Shaurya Chakra awardees from the CRPF.
In addition, there will be numerous ceremonies, including a Guard of Honour, thematic tableaux, and an Indian Air Force fly-past. Cultural events highlighting the heritage of different states will further exemplify the celebration's central theme, 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.'
