Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi marked the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by participating in the 'Run for Unity' at Kalinga Stadium. The event, tied to Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, celebrated India's unity in diversity.
Speaking at the gathering organized by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Majhi emphasized that unity, brotherhood, and patriotism are the cornerstones of Indian identity. He lauded Patel's pivotal role in unifying various princely states into an integrated India.
The 'Run for Unity', initiated in 2014 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and symbolized by the 182-meter tall 'Statue of Unity', underscores the nation's commitment to harmony and patriotism. State Sports Minister Suryavanshi Suraj and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik echoed these sentiments, reinforcing the legacy of Patel's vision.
