Uproar Over Removal of Shivaji Maharaj Bust in Pune

The controversy began with claims that the removal, seen as disrespectful by the 17th-century Maratha warrior king's followers, violated heritage norms. Initially, officials stated the removal was due to office relocation.

However, following public outcry and protests, the bust was reinstalled on Monday evening. While the tehsildar's office assures all necessary permissions were secured, the administration ultimately prioritized community sentiments.
