In a landmark event aimed at promoting aviation awareness among young enthusiasts, the 1 J&K Air Squadron NCC introduced 16 cadets to their first flying experience in Udhampur. This initiative marks a pivotal step in instilling aviation discipline and knowledge in the youth, said an official source.
The cadets, comprising eight from each of the Junior Division and Junior Wing, participated in air familiarization sorties using the Virus SW-80 microlight aircraft under the watchful eyes of commanding and technical staff. Safety protocols were strictly followed throughout the exercise, as confirmed by a defense spokesperson.
Before taking to the skies, each cadet was briefed on aircraft structure, cockpit orientation, safety measures, and emergency protocols. Wing Commander Nitin Yadav acknowledged the enthusiasm of the cadets, highlighting the importance of early exposure to aviation in shaping future professionals. The cadets' positive experiences could bolster their aspirations toward careers in aviation, particularly in the Indian Air Force.
