The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in the UK is celebrating the reacquisition of its original temple site in London, marking a symbolic return to its spiritual roots. The historical site at 7 Bury Place in Bloomsbury, central London, was purchased at auction for approximately 1.16 million pounds.

This building, dating back to 1968, has a rich history interwoven with the establishment of Krishna consciousness in the UK. Spearheaded by ISKCON founder Srila Prabhupada and key supporters like George Harrison of The Beatles, it originally served as the base for ISKCON's pioneering work in the region.

'Reacquiring 7 Bury Place is reclaiming our spiritual birthplace in the UK,' said Praghosa Das of ISKCON UK's Governing Body Commission. The site is poised to become a vibrant hub for outreach, education, and devotional culture, ensuring the legacy of ISKCON endures for future generations.
