A 24-year-old Indian student pursuing a master's degree in Albany, New York, has died following a house fire. Sahaja Reddy Udumala suffered severe burn injuries in the blaze and her death was confirmed by the Indian Consulate in New York, which expressed condolences and support to her family.

According to authorities, the Albany Police Department and Fire Department responded to the scene on December 4, finding the residence engulfed in flames with several occupants inside. Udumala was among four adult victims evacuated and treated, but she succumbed to her injuries.

Her family, devastated by her loss, has launched a fundraiser to cover funeral and related expenses. The campaign, initiated by her cousin Rathna Gopu, has garnered significant support, raising over USD 109,000 out of a USD 120,000 goal, highlighting the community's commitment to honoring her memory.
